A visit to Tahiti, where wild hibiscus flowers bloom everywhere, inspired drink consultant Tad Carducci to create this tiki cocktail. He named it after an imaginary pirate he invented and dubbed Big Nose.

Recipe: Admiral Big Nose's Polynesian Delight

Ingredients

  1. Ice
  2. 1/2 ounce Hibiscus Rum
  3. 3/4 ounce macadamia liqueur or Frangelico
  4. 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  5. 1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum (clove-spiced liqueur)
  6. Dash of orange flower water
  7. Pinch of ground allspice
  8. 1/2 orange wheel
  9. 1 edible orchid (optional)
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the allspice, orange wheel and orchid and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Sprinkle the drink with the allspice and garnish with the orange wheel half and orchid.
