Not quite everything is closed on Thanksgiving, so for those last minute groceries and kitchen items, here's where to go.

With Black Friday coming up, there'll be shopping aplenty the day after Thanksgiving. But what about the day of Thanksgiving? While it's definitely not the time to go buy tons of holiday gifts, sometimes, there's that thing you just desperately need: last minute carving knife replacement, extra plates for surprise guests, emergency band-aids, post-meal Tums, or whatever else a Thanksgiving day could possibly require.

While most places are closed, there are a few stores that will be open during some or all of Thanksgiving. And even if it's calmer than the shopping spectacle that is Black Friday, just make sure to treat the hard working Thanksgiving staff the same way you would want to be treated for the work you and your family members do putting Thanksgiving together.

Note: even across large chains with standardized schedules, hours can vary between different stores, so make sure to give yours a call before committing to the trip.
