Cocktails made with Latin spirits like aged rum and mezcal are a current favorite of bartenders. Socialista mixologist Cyrus Kehyari’s drinks—creamy Puente Punch, honeyed Fields of Gold and smoky Punto Pomelo—go perfectly with cheese-stuffed gorditas.
To follow, a spicy spread of dishes inspired by chef Sue Torres’ trips to Mexico: silky sweet potato soup and tacos with chicken, grilled-vegetable and tamarind-marinated-steak fillings.
