Early Fall Stir-Fry Dinner

Commence the meal with a steaming bowl of gingered broth, quickly prepared with either your own stock or canned, low-sodium broth, and thinly sliced shiitake mushrooms and watercress. Cashew chicken is a stir-fry dish with a twist: The ribs of bok choy steam on top of the chicken until tender. Serve with steamed rice. Dessert is a bit more involved, but worth it. Sweet potsticker dumplings have an almond-plum filling, and are served with fresh plum puree and ice cream. The potstickers and plum puree can be refrigerated separately for up to six hours before serving.
