<p>Of all the historic houses-turned-inns in Nantucket Town (and there are more of them than you can shake a martini at), this 1770 beauty is by far the most stylish. There's nary a trace of “ye olde New England” in the dozen impeccably decorated rooms; while many have graceful antique highboys and four-poster beds, the crisp white Frette linens and Pierre Deux wallpaper keep the aesthetic feeling clean-lined and bright. The only minor downside here is the bathrooms: while lovely, most ensuites are very small. </p> <p><strong>Tip: </strong>A major plus here is the fabulous (complimentary) breakfast served every morning. You can take your eggs Benedict or challah French toast in the cheery sitting room downstairs, on the outdoor patio, or—if you're feeling decadent—in bed.</p> <p><strong>Room to Book: </strong>If you don't want to spring for Room 9—the hotel's only suite, with French doors between the bed and sitting rooms—go for Room 14. It's a quiet corner unit on the second floor, with a pretty view of trees and a good-size bath. </p>
