Tides Beach Club
Picture a classic, clapboard Maine inn, and you’re imagining Tides Beach Club, on Goose Rocks Beach just two miles east of Kennebunkport’s town center. There’s plenty of history here: the stately Victorian hotel was originally built in 1899, but a major 2011 renovation updated—and upgraded—the interiors. The 21 rooms, spread over three floors, are done up in pastel colors, and bathrooms are stocked with Malin & Goetz bath products. Private decks overlook the Atlantic and the hotel’s three-mile stretch of beach, where staffers set up chairs and umbrellas and leave coolers stocked with chilled water and lunch from the Tides Beach Club restaurant.
