Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa
Located in a bougainvillea-and-hibiscus-filled canyon 25 miles north of San Diego, the recently opened 10,000-square-foot spa at the 18-year-old Rancho Valencia Resort has only one goal: pure pampering. Designed in partnership with Auberge Resorts, the spa has 10 treatment suites housed in a hacienda-style building that overlooks a courtyard with a serenity fountain. Snack on the chef’s fresh-baked zucchini bread and citrus-infused iced tea before heading in for a signature scrub or facial—with just-picked ingredients (avocados, lemons, and tangerines) from the spa’s own trees. Couples can partake of a variety of treatments, including aromatic baths and terra-cotta clay bakes. Spend time sweating it out in the fitness room—or kick back, banana smoothie in hand, on your treatment room’s private outdoor patio.
