This retreat in northeast Paris is the first of a new brand aimed at travelers seeking stylish, affordable lodging in city centers. The 172 white-and-gray rooms were conceptualized by Philippe Starck, who chose wall-mounted Mac screens (for TV, radio, and Internet) and funky superhero-mask lampshades. Acclaimed chef Alain Senderens’s restaurant anchors a multiuse bar-and-performance space.
