A white gabled façade with a tall stained-glass window marks the entrance to this unusual boutique hotel,
originally established as a church-run hospice in 1462. Renovated more than five centuries later, the property now blends historic design elements with contemporary touches—think 17th-century tapestries hung beside colorful pop art, and a former courtyard converted into a glass-roofed piano bar. The juxtaposition continues in the 72 guest rooms, which combine antique furniture with Carrara marble bathrooms and Philippe Starck Ghost chairs. The hotel also contains a centuries-old chapel and two dining options: a gourmet French restaurant and a more casual tavern.
