<p>In the middle of the checkerboard Eixample neighborhood, this stunning steel-and-glass-encased building is redolent of an industrial complex and a Buddhist retreat. Adorning exposed brick walls are highlights from hotel owner Jordi Clos's personal collection: Hindu and Buddhist artworks dating from as early as the 10th century. Select pieces are scattered throughout the 77 attractively spare guest rooms, too, providing counterpoint to high-tech amenities, like flat-screen televisions and Jacuzzis in the marble bathrooms. The hotel's modern Catalan restaurant, Avalon, opens onto a verdant terrace in an interior patio, but it's the infinity pool on the roof that's the real showstopper.</p> <p><strong>Room to Book:</strong> The four duplex suites on the first floor share a semiprivate pool and garden.
