This extravagant, grand hotel built in French Renaissance style was a centerpiece of Hungary's celebration of its first thousand years. Constructed in 1896 as the Grand Royal Hotel, the structure was partially destroyed in the Hungarian Revolution but restored to its former glory a decade ago. Now called the Corinthia Hotel, the five-star property combines its original architectural grandeur with 21st-century amenities.
