Casa de los Sueños
Half-hidden by foliage on a residential block of villas, this adults-only B&B conjures up a humble Mayan hut, but inside, the house of sueños (dreams) opens onto a tiled reception area that overlooks an infinity pool melting into a view of the sea. Yogis and wellness devotees can’t get enough, and romantics should follow suit, since the design—three thatch-roofed buildings hugging a hillside—allows all nine rooms to have balconies or terraces from which to watch the sun rise over the Bahía de Mujeres. Peacenik names (Abundance, Harmony) and bold colors (melon, berry) characterize rooms personalized with folk art and clad in Frette cottons, while Zen pursuits—meditation, yoga—characterize the activities. Not included: televisions, phones, alarm clocks. Included: bikes, kayaks, a mini-bar. You get the message.
Insider Tip: Feeling too relaxed? Head to nearby El Garrafón Natural Reef Park to snorkel and dive.
Room to Book: Master suite Serenity has the best view—an achingly beautiful slice of the sea and the night lights of Cancún—as well as a whirlpool bath and steam shower. Wood beams and handwoven textiles recall traditional Mexico.
Congratulations to Mei Lin, winner of Top Chef Season 12.
