The fun, hip vibe of this beachside hotel is perfectly captured by its open-air cocktail bar—which doubles as a Harley-Davidson rental spot during the summer months. The bright-white, 78-room hotel faces the powdery sands and palm trees that, along with revelry, are hallmarks of this affluent suburb, just a 10-minute drive from the city center. Despite the hotel’s marble-floored lobby, rooms are decidedly flip-flop-friendly, with sand-colored carpets, crisp white bed linens, and light-colored wood and wicker furniture. In summer, the hotel’s four swimming pools are a hive of activity; most decadent is Sandy B, where you can order drinks without having to leave the pool. Kids ages 12 and up are welcome.

Insider Tip: Avoid the pool-facing Classic rooms—the only ones with neither a sea nor mountain view.

Room to Book: Room 434 (actually a corner suite) has two balconies, an outdoor Jacuzzi, and terrific views of Lion’s Head, a city peak popular with paragliders.
