In the case of Azul's private villas, the old adage “you get what you pay for” is certainly applicable. The steep fee paid per night to rent one of two 3,000-square-foot Ambergris Caye beach villas promises a range of amenities. The villas' open floor plans include 20-foot ceilings, curving staircases, and exposed wood beams. Adding touches of local authenticity, the 800-pound mylady beams, jabin cabinetry, dark zericote beds, and teak pergolas were crafted using wood indigenous to Belize. Each two-bedroom, two-bath villa has direct access to the 10-acre resort's private, 400-foot wide beach and also features an open rooftop space that, in addition to having a hot tub, is furnished for both lounging and dining.
Congratulations to Mei Lin, winner of Top Chef Season 12.
