Art Smith, Oprah Winfrey’s former personal chef, opened his first restaurant in this Gold Coast carriage house last summer and serves the kind of over-the-top comfort food he grew up with in the South. Guests aren’t seated long before a waiter brings deviled eggs and iron-skillet-baked goat-cheese biscuits for the table.
