One of the best (relative) bargains in the city is the omakase-like chef’s choice $10-per-course tasting menu from Josef Centeno, formerly of Meson G. In fact, his two-year-old Ko-reatown restaurant is frequented by rock stars (is it the black leather tabletops? The water-fall?) and is a great value in any book, since Centeno, with his impossible-to-categorize free-style American cuisine, provides a sense of discovery and joy in every dish.
