Though this 40-room boutique hotel opened in 2004, it’s only since Sonia El-Nawal became chef last year that the kitchen has soared. El-Nawal combines Mexican ingredients with techniques she learned in some of New York’s top spots, including JoJo and Bond Street, and now this open-air restaurant is a rare example of an aggressively trendy atmosphere combined with truly good food.
