You won’t see many foreigners at this just-off-the-beaten-path café—from early morning to late afternoon, it’s teeming with locals enjoying what are arguably the city’s best pastries and panini. Sandwiches, assembled on freshly baked croissants or brioche-style rolls, are filled with prosciutto crudo, fresh mozzarella and so on—including the popular novelty “Philadelphia,” with cream cheese. Traditional pastries are exemplary.

We Loved

Budino di riso (a tartlet filled with vanilla-flavored rice custard); buttery caramel-glazed puff-pastry turnovers filled with custard.
