Many things at this four-story, self-described “country brasserie” in Notting Hill are organic, farm-sourced and Slow Food-y. Soups, pies and pub food are served on the first floor, and more grown-up dishes—including a lot of seasonal game—are served higher up. The autumnal (okay, brown) decor is slightly oppressive, but the service is bright.

Ham hock, black pudding and lentil salad; Dover sole meunière; spinach, wild mushroom and Parmesan pie.
