Want a recipe for a viral video? All you need is one muffin tin and six hedgehogs, preferably live. (Actually, now that I think about it, definitely live.) Place each hedgehog in its own cup, spikey side up, and film with a digital camera for about 40 seconds. Then post.

The YouTube channel Fabulous Mr. Pug cooked up just such a clip a few days ago, and it’s already racked up a healthy 300,000 views.

Don’t worry: No hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this painfully cute video, though if you are offended by unnecessary use of oven mitts, you may want to divert your eyes for the first five seconds.

Also, if you’re on a hedgehog-free diet (so trendy recently, I know) you could probably substitute in turtles, small Guinea pigs or tiny kittens, however, your cuteness results may vary.
