The Bronx Zoo Is Hosting an Adults-Only Sleepover

There are certain things that are better when you’re an adult: drinks, the selection at the movie theatre and sleepovers—and no, we don’t mean in the ;-) sense. We’re still talking about those wholesome sleepovers of yore, with friends and snacks and well-planned activities. Only now there’s booze.
For those interested in dialing up the elementary sleepover scene, the Bronx Zoo is planning an adult sleepover for October.
The adults-only overnight (which is 21+) will include a DJ, plenty of food, close-up animal encounters and much more.

Guests arrive around 6 p.m. on Friday, October 14 to check in to the party. From there, visitors to the zoo eat dinner and experience late night with the animals. Guides will show everyone around, with exclusive late night access to special exhibits and intimate talks with the zoo keepers.

The following morning, guests will get breakfast followed by a morning yoga session, “Instagram scavenger hunt,” and early access to special exhibits that may have been missed the night before.

But just because guests are staying in New York City doesn’t mean that the living will be easy. Sleeping arrangements are in four-person tents, laid out in Astor Court, a plaza very close to the zoo’s sea lions. It is also one of the oldest parts of the zoo and boasts beautiful architecture (in case guests are unable to sleep and need something to look at).
The sleepover costs $350, or $315 for members of the Bronx Zoo. Admission includes dinner, drinks, beverages and accommodations. Registration for the event closes October 9.
