It’s Friday, which means you’re only half a day away from embarking on the two day psychoactive journey that is your weekend, so why not kick things off with a truly trippy cooking video?

In an interesting bit of technological exploration. YouTuber Scott Sorensen decided to film himself cooking a hot breakfast with a thermal camera. You see hot coffee flowing into a mug, hot toast popping from a toaster before getting slathered in cold butter, and a hot stove frying up an omelet. And then he does the dishes because, I don’t know, cleanliness is next to godliness. And he thought hot water out of a faucet would look cool.

It’s interesting on its own, however, since the Internet loves crazy crap, Sorensen decided to score the short video with a wild piece of synth music from a couple of dudes called Kids in Capes! The strange soundtrack adds an otherworldly vibe to what might otherwise be a straightforward clip – a choice that is about as cool as it is disturbing.

Personally, I would have used “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. I call it “You Ain’t Seen Breakfast Yet” and you can definitely watch it here.
