Patti LaBelle Is Bringing Her Pie-Making Talents to Television
Is there anything the Godmother of Soul can't do?
Legendary singer-turned-Walmart baked goods mogul Patti LaBelle will be calling the Cooking Channel home in her new six-part series, Patti LaBelle's Place. Premiering on December 3 with back-to-back episodes, LaBelle will welcome a bevy of celebrity guests like 50 Cent and Gayle King into her sure-to-be cozy and welcoming cooking space.
"The one-of-a-kind Patti LaBelle's talents in the kitchen are right up there with her talents on-stage," Food Network and Cooking Channel’s SVP of programming Didi O'Hearn said in a statment. "The happiness Patti gets from sharing her favorite dishes with her guests is a joy to watch."
Dishes will range from traditional soul food, like fried corn and ribs to a variety of vegan options, but we're obviously most excited about her desserts.
We won't know if the show is a hit until YouTube star James Wright is singing her praises, though. Can someone in his circle please task him with the responsibility of recording another review? The world will thank him for it.
