Despite some fresh food experiments and Matt Damon’s (hilarious?) potato farm on Mars, space food does not have the tastiest reputation. But while thermally stabilized, irradiated food might not win a Michelin star anytime soon, it can at least provide hours of entertainment for crew members on the International Space Station. In the most recent video from YouTube channel Great Big Story, astronaut and former NFL player Leland Melvin shows off all the games you can play with food in space. We think it’s safe to say that no matter how expensive and fancy the spring water you usually drink is (and we know you like some fancy, expensive water), nothing can compare to enjoying H20 in zero gravity. It turns out it even pairs well with M&Ms. Check out the video above for all the ways you can play with your food in space. Just don’t expect to see any freeze-dried ice cream up there. The number of astronauts who eat that stuff is about the same as the number of people who actually thought The Martian was a comedy.
