You Can Now Bring the State Fair to Your Kitchen with Deep Fried Twinkies
If you frequent state fairs often and find yourself thinking “gosh, I never fully get my deep fried Twinkie fix,” Hostess and Walmart have the perfect product for you. (And no, it’s not a free appointment at your local diabetes clinic.)
Starting today, Walmart stores across the country will be exclusively selling Hostess’s Deep Fried Twinkies. Simply unwrap the snack, which comes frozen, and bake in your own oven. It will come in chocolate and vanilla flavors.
It has a "retro cool factor," Ellen Copaken, Hostess' vice president of marketing, tells AP. "It plays into the comfort food trend. And it's fun."
You should know that this fun involves subjecting yourself to 220 empty calories, but if you've got a sugar craving and you want that splurge to be extra special, this is obviously the treat for you.
Boxes of seven will be available for $4.76, but can you really put a price on bringing the sights, tastes and smells of the fair to your home? As long as it's not the petting zoo, then no. No you can not.
