Burger King Loves Japan More than America

By Noah Kaufman |

Japan must have made a deal with a fast-food devil. That is the only possible explanation for Burger King’s new promotion there, which is cheerily advertised above. Starting this week, the Japanese will have the option of not one, not two, but three burgers covered in avocado.

This isn’t the first time BK Japan has spoiled its customers. In the past they have served their burgers with squid-ink ketchup, kabocha squash, even alongside notably boozy cocktails. But we are definitely jealous of the avocados and the sheer quantity with which they’re being used.

The Japanese Whoppers don’t have a slice, or a dollop of guacamole, they have a Mount Fuji–size pile of avocados that is apparently the equivalent of an avocado and a half. If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo soon you can pick up the deluxe burger for 550 yen or about $5.35. Seems like a bargain to us. Between these and the cherry blossom KitKats, we’re considering a move.
