This past weekend, star chef Tom Colicchio continued his all-out offensive against the nonstop problem of childhood hunger by hosting his second fundraiser in a week. The event for the documentary Hungry in America took place at Craft Los Angeles; the first was at NYC’s Colicchio & Sons (yes, it’s convenient to have a restaurant in the city you’re fundraising in). Colicchio is promoting the film—part of a multimedia campaign—partly because he’s an executive producer and partly because his wife, Lori Silverbush, is a co-director. They were in good company in LA. Stars like David Arquette, Topher Grace and Ali Larter were there, sampling ricotta-stuffed squash blossoms from Nancy Silverton, pastrami-style pigeon from Michael Voltaggio and steak tartare from Suzanne Goin. Also there was the lovely former first niece Lauren Bush, a cofounder of the nonprofit FEED Foundation, which is a partner in Hungry in America. You can see her—with one of her supercute canvas FEED bags that have raised money for over 53 million meals for the UN World Food Programme—in the photo above.
