“What do you have in your Pinot-filled hat?” Countess Luann de Lesepps asks Ramona Singer during a fight in the preview for tonight's Real Housewives of New York City.
While this might be just another example of how wine brings out the absurdities of reality TV, the rhetorical question made us wonder if the Housewives’ intriguing eating and imbibing habits in last week's premiere can foreshadow the twists and turns on future episodes. Here, we look into our crystal ball (or wineglass) and size up the ladies of this season. All will be revealed tonight at 9/8c on Bravo.
The veteran Housewife, who is at the center of two arguments in the premiere episode, holds or sips a glass of her own Ramona Pinot Grigio in many of her scenes.
What this could mean: Self-promotional mentions are a given, but also expect Ramona Pinot Grigio–fueled fights early and often. Fingers crossed for that Pinot-filled hat.
Last season’s peacekeeper makes meatballs for guests in a toaster oven, talks about her toaster oven and serves Ramona’s wine at her house party.
What this does mean: Potentially the quirkiest cookbook by a Housewife (see tomes by RHONJ Teresa Giudice and RHOBH Lisa Vanderpump), it is revealed on Sonja’s website that she's working on a “lifestyle toaster oven cookbook” to be released later this year.
Owner of Yummie Tummie shapewear and a mother of three, this new Housewife arrives at Ramona’s party and doesn’t want to drink Pinot (!). She prefers Scotch but settles for tequila, which she calls an upper (possibly insinuating that wine is a downer).
What this could mean: Differences of opinion leading to quarrels with Ramona and more hard liquor (not necessarily in that order).
A native New Yorker, this cast member doesn’t hold back telling Ramona her first impression: "You were more drunk than I ever imagined myself in college."
What this could mean: Butting heads with the “mean girls.” Another sign that this will come true: She did not attend the other Housewives' premiere parties recently.
A best-selling author with connections to the Kennedy family, she is dissuaded from ordering a diet soda by Aviva.
What this could mean: She may be easily swayed by the other women during fights. Which side will she choose?

The longtime Housewife forgets to drink her decaf cappuccino because she’s in such a huff about a “disturbing phone call” from Ramona.
What this could mean: Overdramatized fighting. Though we have to give credit for which is so far the line of the season: “What do you have in your Pinot-filled hat?”
