Jen Murphy

Title: Travel Editor
At Food & Wine since: 2004
Born and Raised: Point Pleasant, New Jersey
Education: Northeastern University, Boston. I interned at Food & Wine in the summer of 2002, returned after graduation to work part-time in 2003 and came on board full-time in 2004.
What I Do at Food & Wine: I work with our brilliant correspondents and stringers to find the most delicious and exciting food around the world whether it's at a taco shack on the North Shore or a super-fancy, Michelin-star restaurant in the English countryside.
What I'd Be if I Weren't an Editor: I'm a bookworm, so I'd open a really funky book store/wine bar. Or I'd be a surf instructor in Costa Rica or Australia.
Embarrassing Food Addiction: Growing up I worked summers at an ice cream parlor and loved dipping thick-cut, lightly salty french fries in black-and-white milkshakes. It sounds disgusting, but the contrasting flavors-salty-sweet and hot-cold-are incredible.
Fantasy Splurge: I have a horrible case of wanderlust. I'd take a year-long tour of South America eating all of the local foods, surfing in Peru and Brazil, snowboarding in the Andes and visiting wine country.
Food Obsession: I lived in Australia for nearly a year and became completely addicted to Tim Tams, chocolate-covered cookies you eat with tea.
Most Memorable Meal: Dinner at Cyrus in Healdsburg, California, was transcendent. It was really an experience, not just a meal.MARKETPLACE
