David Bouley's Japanese Restaurant/Cooking School Is Closer Than You Think

Here's my favorite unsubstantiated rumor of the day: David Bouley's upcoming kaiseki restaurant and Japanese cooking school is opening in the building kitty corner from his restaurant, Bouley (or, more simply, across the street from Upstairs at Bouley) and work has already started. For anyone who missed it on Grub Street a couple of months ago, Bouley is allegedly partnering with the Tsuji Culinary Academy, Japan's biggest and most prestigious cooking school. In fact, he's been working with Tsuji for over 15 years, and the school's founder, Yoshiki Tsuji, has spent time here experimenting in Bouley's test kitchen (lots of details on that in an old New York Restaurant Insider article). At least they both know the neighborhood.
