It’s been a whirlwind year for rockers Fitz and the Tantrums, whose ’80s throwback album More Than Just a Dream came out in May. Their song “Out of My League” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative chart last month, and they seem to be perpetually touring—a lifestyle that allows co-lead singer (and onstage powerhouse) Noelle Scaggs to indulge in her other love, eating. Here are five things she wishes were waiting for her in the band’s dressing room after every show.
1. A bottle of Bond Estates Matriarch. I tried this wine for the first time nearly seven years ago. A friend of mine is a collector. If I could have it in the dressing room every night, I would be a happy camper.
2. Pescado tacos from La Estrella in Highland Park. These, in my opinion, are the best fish tacos in L.A., period, and I have tried many. La Estrella is known for its beer-battered white cod with spicy cabbage, special sauce and pico de gallo, in a beautiful corn tortilla. No one tops this place. They would make the best after-show meal.
