Momofuku Milk Bar's confectionary mastermind Christina Tosi built a dessert empire by doing things a little differently. She puts confetti in cookies, cereal milk in soft serve and now, blondies in apple pie. Tosi has always had flair in the kitchen, and she credits her grandmother. "Grandma's name was Rosemary, and she taught me how to bake. Her specialty was the oatmeal cookie," remembers Tosi. "When I was little, instead of helping I would eat all of the cookie dough; she would tell me not to be so greedy. She's the one who really pushed me to learn how to fend for myself in the kitchen." 1. Stick to the rules. You have to figure out how to infuse your personality into the kitchen vibe.
2. Focus on the shoes. Putting on a really fun pair of sneakers, high-tops or kitchen shoes is fun.
3. Start with a colorful base. Try to wear patterns underneath chef coats that sort of peek out, because normal kitchen clothes are not the most fun and not filled with the most flair.
