Good, inexpensive wines like these are perfect for weeknight drinking. They'll go with practically any dish.

2012 Louis Jadot Mâcon-Villages ($15)
Top white Burgundies are very expensive, but village-level ones can be affordable and delicious. This one is crisp and appley.

2013 Telmo Rodríguez Basa ($15)
White wines from Spain’s Rueda region tend to be unoaked, so they’re lively and great with lighter foods. Lemony, medium-bodied Basa is made from the Verdejo grape.

2012 Evodia Garnacha ($10)
Grenache—from Spain (like this one), France or California—tends to be juicy with mild tannins. It’s good both with food and on its own.

2012 Tenuta Ibidini Nero d’Avola ($14)
“Second-label” wines, like this spicy red from Sicily, are often more easygoingthan a producer’s highly regarded (and expensive) marquee bottlings.

2011 Hedges CMS Red ($14)
This Washington state blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah is balanced and approachable.
