Here, the blogs you should be reading right now with recipes and tips from their creators.

The Blog: Los Angeles–based recipe developer Adrianna Adarme writes (very enthusiastically!) about comfort food at A Cozy Kitchen.

You love breakfast and even have written a whole book about pancakes. What are some of your favorite weekend breakfasts for two? How about breakfast for a crowd? And what are your favorite weekday breakfasts?
Oooohh, I love this question; I'm such a fangirl of breakfast!

My favorite breakfasts for two are the buttermilk pancakes from my book. They're so simple and delicious, and I can make them with my eyes closed. As for dishes to make for a crowd, I'm really into stratas right now. I made one a few weeks ago and was so pumped with the results. It took about 15 minutes to assemble. I threw in braised buttery leeks, a cubed sourdough baguette, a ton of Gruyère cheese and poured the creamy egg mixture on top. It was super delicious and easily served a large group. Weekday breakfasts are all about quick and easy stuff I can throw together before I've had my coffee. I usually make a bowl of yogurt with fresh fruit, topped with handful of granola or raw oats and a drizzle of fancy wildflower honey.

What are some of your favorite spots in L.A. for breakfast? What dishes do you love?
Gjelina in Venice is perfect. Everyone is disturbingly attractive and the space doesn't get prettier. The pancakes are the best in the city, but I hardly ever order them because I can never pass up on ordering the Moroccan baked eggs with merguez sausage. During the week, I love going to Sqirl. It's near my house and going there for breakfast meetings makes waking up early fun. I get the burnt brioche toast with ricotta and jam, or if I'm going for something savory, I order the sorrel pesto rice bowl with “the works” (a.k.a. sausage and egg), of course.

On your “About” page, you say that your mom is Peruvian so you occasionally cook recipes that have been passed down to you. Can you share some favorites?
Oh, yes! I haven't shared my absolute favorite Peruvian recipes on the blog because some of the ingredients are really hard to find, but I love the way Peruvians make ceviche. They add lots of ginger, red onion, tons of lime juice and ají amarillos. As for desserts, my favorite is masa morada; it's a dish that derives from the drink Chicha. It's a warm, sweet purple corn pudding that is this bright beautiful fuchsia color—it's a dream.

I love your carrot and carrot top post. What other recent food/ingredient discoveries have you had recently?
My boyfriend, Joshua, always teaches me things in the kitchen. He's been into braising vegetables for as long as I've known him and it's recently become contagious. I like to take beets or parts of the vegetables that are typically throwaway, like broccoli stems, create a flavorful stock and slow-cook the vegetables in it. They take on such an incredible flavor and the texture is just perfect.

What food blogs are you loving right now?
I love food blogs for different reasons. For writing that makes makes me laugh and cry all at the same time, I read Dash and Bella. If I want a little sass and healthy food, I go to Oh Lady Cakes. I also love my regular reads, which are Top with Cinnamon, How Sweet Eats, Joy the Baker, Spoon Fork Bacon, Apt 2B Baking Co., Honestly Yum, Little Upside Down Cake, Wit & Vinegar and a ton of others. I read Ideas In Food, too. Their experiments are always super cool.
