F&W's Megan Krigbaum's wine picks include a Piedmontese red with hints of strawberry and a terrific Chenin Blanc, which pairs well with smoked seafood.

2012 Arbe Garbe White Blend ($28) This teeny-production wine from California's Russian River Valley proved incredibly adaptable to food throughout a meal: prickly and fresh with mussels; creamy and rich with cheesy pasta.

2011 Matteo Correggia Anthos ($20) I first had this Piedmontese red in the dead of winter, but it's on my shopping list for spring. It tastes just like the wild strawberries that pop up this time of year.

2012 Domaine Richou Chauvigné Anjou ($19) I couldn't put down my first glass of this insanely good Chenin Blanc at Boston's Row 34, so I ordered a second glass to go with the restaurant's fun cured and smoked seafood board.
