Tomorrow, the 2014 Winter Olympics ceremonies begin in Sochi. Here are 5 ways to eat and cook like some of the event's biggest star athletes.

1. Load up on carbs. Ice Hockey star Julie Chu loves putting her own spin on lasagna and other pasta dishes.
Try: Lasagna Puttanesca

2. Keep things simple. "I love to cook steak and potatoes," says gold medalist Ted Ligety. His favorite? Rib-eye steak with jalapeño-cheddar mashed potatoes.
Try: Pepper-and-Spice-Rubbed Rib Eye Steaks and Mashed Potatoes with Jalapeño and Cheddar

3. Get your greens. Three-time Olympic snowboarder Kelly Clark lists brussels sprouts and salad among her top five favorite foods.
Try: Brussels Sprouts with Prosciutto and Juniper

4. Make brunch for your friends. Freestyle skiing star Hannah Kearney loves to make crêpes for her teammates while on the road.
Try: Crêpes with Sweet Yogurt and Raspberry-Apricot Sauce

5. Don't skip dessert. Ice dancing silver medalist Meryl Davis loves to bake and always opts for dessert when dining out. "Chocolate lava cake is my ultimate weakness," she says.
Try: Molten Chocolate Cakes
