Here, the blogs you should be reading right now with recipes and tips from their creators.
So, you're a guy! And a food blogger! I know others exist (there's The Amateur Gourmet and Matt Bites, of course) but dudes are definitely rare in the space. Any comment?
You know, I'm not 100% on that. It's definitely a girls-we-run-this-mother-Beyoncé kind of place when it comes to food blogs, but I've been discovering more guys that are doing it and I couldn't be more impressed with their talent. See below for some faves.
You've recently talked about your waffle iron obsession. Have you waffle ironed anything other than your typical batter?
I have yet to conquer "the waffle of waffles" so until then, the iron can't be tainted. I do, however, have some plans for cinnamon rolls (it flattens them out so they have less calories) and I've taken notes for mashed potato waffles from Joy the Baker because they're mashed potatoes and a stack covered in gravy would be heaven.
When do you graduate from college? And dare I ask what's next?
Graduating's been delayed for a few different reasons called life, but I'm really excited to move down to the LA area in a couple months and to finish up school down there. It's a scary leap, but I need a change in pace and warm weather forever and more shopping options for shoes. No immediate plans for now, except to keep on working with the blog and see where it takes me. It's the Aladdin to my Jasmine/maybe it's the magic carpet in this situation, I'm not entirely sure.
You mention that you love coffee at least three times in your bio page. How do you take it?
This would be the perfect place for an “I like my coffee like I like my men” joke but mine doesn't make any sense because a good americano with a little cream and sugar is my answer. When it's even beginning to get warm outside, an iced one is the ideal way to go. (Picture Flashdance, where the water splashes all over her. That's me every warm day but with coffee. The outfit and hair are negotiable.)
What food blogs are you most excited about right now?
Ohmygod there's so many but I'll try to keep it short. To flash back to the first question, go check out The Artful Desperado and The Candid Appetite. For ladies night we're going with A Cozy Kitchen, Take A Megabite, Shutterbean, Minimalist Baker, The Sugar Hit, Hungry Girl Por Vida, i am a food blog, and Dine X Design. Also, Izy should probably know I'm the HBIC of the Top with Cinnamon Fan Club.
