In the Dolomite mountains of the Italian Alps, foodies from around the world come to ski and skiers from around the world come to eat. Visitors can hire Agustina Lagos Mármol to arrange a custom tour (dolomitemountains.com), which may include these fabulous places.

Rosa Alpina
Located in the charming village of San Cassiano in the Alta Badia valley, this Alpine inn and spa attracts celebrities like George Clooney and Italian sports stars. Bespectacled, convivial chef Norbert Niederkofler runs its Michelin two-star restaurant, St. Hubertus. Doubles from $480; rosalpina.it

Rifugio Fuciade
Owned and run by the Rossi family for the last 30 years, this remote mountain hut has seven bedrooms, an extensive wine cellar and a restaurant serving regional dishes such as canederli (bread dumplings made with speck and cheese). Rooms from $68 per person including breakfast; fuciade.it

Rifugio Emilio Comici
This white-painted lodge with blue shutters has a fantastic restaurant and outdoor bar, where a fashionable crowd orders Champagne, grilled shrimp and oysters at 7,000 feet. rifugiocomici.com

This tiny mountain hut doesn't look fancy, but it's the only restaurant in the area that requires a reservation. The internationally trained chef Franz Mulser cooks multicourse dinners with labor-intensive dishes like suckling pig, served with pears and fig honey. Lunch is a more casual affair: homemade pastas and charcuterie on wooden plates. 39-347-836-8154

Alpina Dolomites
This three-year-old property is the first truly modern luxury hotel in the Dolomites. Architect Gerhard Tauber designed the sleek, minimalist interior using natural stone, local wood and glass. The spa is a standout. Rooms from $270 per person, including breakfast and dinner; alpinadolomites.it

Rifugio Averau
The only way to access this busy restaurant in the Cinque Torri ski area is by ski lift or snowmobile. After a pasta dinner, customers ski back down—unless they rent one of the newly renovated bedrooms with mountain views. Rooms from $120 per person including breakfast and dinner; 39-0436-4660
