F&W asked chefs around the country how they would prepare for an apocalyptic situation, a la The Road. Some went for luxury goods—others focused on survival.

World-renowned French chef Guy Savoy has no plans for long-term survival. Instead, he would pack one final indulgent meal primarily centered on a bottle of Château d’Yquem. “You can enjoy this wine as if you’re eating and drinking at the same time,” Savoy says. “If I had more time, I’d also pack a box of sardines and some bread.”
