Cheese Master

For a few years now, I’ve taught a mediabistro.com food writing class and met the most amazing people. Students have gone on to write for the New York Times, author cookbooks, even, it seems, to appear Off-Broadway (I’m not sure how much credit I can take for any of it, particularly that last achievement). In the last year or so, the number of students with their own great blogs has grown exponentially. Their sites, to name a few, include: the wonderful harrietts tomato, the very funny good american wife (be careful with the address or you’ll find yourself at some distinctly un-food related websites), the well-informed gridskipper-amanda kludt, the sweet this little piglet and the adorable madison and mayberry (those last 4 bloggers were all in the same tech savvy class). My current favorite former student blog is cheesaholics anonymous which is the brainchild of Nadia Gil, a woman who’s more passionate about cheese than anyone I know (and I know a lot of cheese obsessives). They have occasional events; I haven’t been to one yet but am excited to go to one soon to up my own cheese IQ.
