This has been a big year for wine auctions: In June a case of 1934 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti sold at Christie's for nearly $112,000. Numbers like this reflect the explosive growth of the wine auction business. In the past six years, for instance, Sotheby's U.S. wine sales have risen almost 40 percent, to over $13 million. And the number of lots Zachys offered last year shot up by approximately 50 percent; its total sales went from about $12 million a year to over $18 million. Here's where you can get a taste of the wine auction action.
