2005 EQ Sauvignon Blanc ($15)
This Sauvignon has a wonderfully long and minerally finish; it's produced by new star winery Matetic.
2004 Veramonte Primus ($16) This is a deliciously drinkable yet well-structured Cabernet blend from one of Chile's leading export wineries.
2005 Santa Rita Floresta Sauvignon Blanc ($20) A terrific Sauvignon Blanc from the cool region of Leyda, this well-balanced, full-bodied wine has lovely notes of citrus and lime.
2005 Casa Marín Gewürztraminer ($35) There isn't much Gewürztraminer planted in Chile, but this dry floral wine offers proof that the grape can do very well.
2004 Montes Purple Angel ($46) Almost 100 percent Carmenère, this is a lush, soft red with notes of dark cherry fruit. Accessible now, it will likely improve with age.
2001 Clos Apalta ($65) Rich and elegant, this Carmenère-Merlot blend is the work of French winemaking consultant Michel Rolland.
2002 Almaviva ($91) An opulent, almost chocolaty Cabernet-Carmenère blend from a partnership between Chile's Concha y Toro and France's Baroness Philippine de Rothschild.
