As unlikely as it sounds, tepees have become fashionable settings for outdoor parties. The canvas-and-wood one in our story, which the Kofflers set up for entertaining in spring and keep there through the fall, is from the Wyoming-based Sheridan Tent & Awning Company. Theirs is one of the largest made by Sheridan: 24 feet tall and 24 feet in diameter at the base, the tepee is big enough to fit 20 people inside. The company also sells smaller versions, such as a kid-size one just 8 feet in diameter (from $170 to $980; 307-674-6313).
