Meerlust Estate (Baden Powell Dr., Stellenbosch; 011-27-21-843-3587) is best known for elegant reds--its Merlot is a star--but it now offers a voluptuous Chardonnay and a great Grappa too.
Middelvlei Estate (Flamingo St., Stellenbosch; 011-27-21-883-2565) bottles a velvety Pinotage, alone or in an unusual blend with Merlot.
