Although the Mugnerets own parcels of land in many premier cru and grand cru vineyards, the total production of their estate is only about 2,000 cases per year. Their most outstanding bottles are virtually impossible to find: the 1996 Echézeaux; the 1993 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes; and the 1991 Clos-Vougeot. To purchase bottles from current or future vintages, contact a local fine-wine retailer. Some bottles are also available from Atherton Wine Imports (650-328-6639).
Visits to the winery are by appointment only--and never on Wednesdays. Contact Domaines Mugneret-Gibourg & Georges Mugneret, 5 Rue des Communes, 21700 Vosne-Romanée, France; 011-33-3-80-61-01-57; fax 011-33-3-80-61-33-08.
