As in her old kitchen, Tina has the cooktop, sink and refrigerator arranged in a convenient triangle configuration. "Before, everything was one step from everything else, which was a little cramped—now it's three steps," she says. She installed a pullout garbage and recycling drawer under the maple butcher block next to the cooktop so she can prep vegetables, then sweep the peelings directly into the trash.
