The 10th Mountain Division Hut Association operates some of the cabins in the Vail area. These range from hostel-style accommodations that house 16 people per night for $17.50 to $35 per person, to sybaritic huts with saunas that are booked for one group at a time at a rate of $210 to $420 per night. Huts are equipped with cooking equipment and mattresses; guests bring sleeping bags and food. The huts are open from Thanksgiving through April and July through September; call 970-925-5775.
