For a literary adaptation, the film version of Diane Johnson's Le Divorce is downright sexy. Kate Hudson stars, with Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Stockard Channing, Sam Waterston and Leslie Caron in supporting roles. Hudson plays an American having an affair with a Frenchman, played by Thierry Lhermitte; for them, the dining room is almost as erotically charged as the bedroom. "I felt especially guilty about the pleasure and interest I took in the restaurants we went to," Hudson's character says, calling her fascination "perhaps a perversion."
