Duncan's Big Winners
2004 Vinos Piñol Ludovicus ($10) This red blend is soft and fruity and full of energy. It's a great deal, too.
2001 Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium ($45) This Shiraz blend is big but not brutal, with lots of ripe, rich fruit and soft tannins.
2001 Tommaso Bussola BG Amarone della Valpolicella ($62) A ripe red from Italy's Veneto region, made from late-harvested, air-dried grapes. It's a big-bodied, high-alcohol, hugely fruity wine.
Bohr's Traditional Favorites
2000 Domaine René & Vincent Dauvissat Les Preuses Chablis ($50) A beautifully restrained white without excess butter and oak.
2000 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny ($60) A relatively light-bodied but silky red with delightful floral aromas.
2001 Tommaso Bussola BG Amarone della Valpolicella Classico ($62) Bohr likes this wine as much as Duncan does because of its complex aromatics and ageability.
