Memorable Invitations
The Place Cards
Instead of using place cards, we sent the guests' signatures to lettering artist Karen Charatan (201-930-9608). She traced them onto napkins with a fabric marker, then with paint.
The Box
We used a photo box from Jam Paper to hold each invitation. A sheet of linen paper with messy calligraphy and ink splatters slipped into the display slot announced the party's theme (www.jampaper.com).
The Extras
We sent each guest a quill pen from Crane & Co. (800-268-2281) and an invitation in a jacket tied with ribbon. Attached was a tag with the date of the party on one side and an illustration of cutlery on the other.
The Card
No need to hire an engraver: We created the invitations ourselves on the computer, using a single typeface. We attached them to a card-stock jacket from Kate's Paperie (888-941-9169) using double-sided tape.
